NO BULLYING and Bucket Filling By Jaclyn, Marissa & Sophie

In our school we are doing something called Bucket Filling and it means NO BULLYING! The consequence is 2 put-ups when you say something bad about yourself or another person says something mean to you or behind your back. People don't want to be seen bullying other people. Just know that no matter what anybody says about you doesn't mean you have to think that is true. Everybody is special in their own way. We're all the same on the inside it doesn't matter on our outside.

Tip: try saying "sticks and stones may break my bones, but  names will never hurt me."
Just always remember to stick up for yourself. No one has to be your judge just always be yourself no matter what anyone says.

Winter Songs By Matthew

Have you ever had a concert or something else you had to really work and practice at? Do you have an event like this one coming up? 3N does! The class has been practicing very hard at the song the will be singing at the Winter Concert. Everyday in a time that would normally be filled with Science and Social Studies, 3N pairs up with the other third grade class, 3G and starts to practice their song. Since the whole school is participating we can hear other students practicing their songs as well. We are happy and waiting for the Winter Concert.

The Winter Concert is a great way for kids to be prepared to preform on stage and it helps them to enjoy singing with others.

Animal Research!

Great news! 3N is doing an animal research project, it's so much fun.
First, we got to choose what animal we were going to do.  Next, We got to do the research, and find out four topics about them they were food, habitat, babies, and appearance. We could do behavior if our animal had it on the website. Plus, right them down in dash facts. Then, we had to put them down in sentences, and still put them in our own words. Finally, we were finishing up our animal research sentences up. It was so much fun!  After that, we started making them up into paragraphs. Now, we are trying to finish up our animal research paragraphs.
Stay tuned for our next session!

Next we went to go get something to eat and also your parents can go and if you want to make something for the feast the you can and bring it. Finally we had to go back to our classroom and it was a half day.

Cops and Robbers

Did you ever have to run so much you could not breathe? We did we had to run all around the gym. There was a box around the the middle of the gym. You had to run away from the cops before you get hit by a ball. Their were mats around the inside of the gym and you could only stay for a little bit. As we ran the cops hid behind the mat.

Library!!!!!! Sophie

Do you like books?Well,if you like books I 'm sure you love library!
At school, on days 1 & 12a we have library.
We get to borrow 2 books! (if you returned your old ones.)
Reading is important because if you read you will get smarter. There's a short poem for it.
(The more you read, the more you know. The more you know, the smarter you grow.
The smarter you grow, the stronger your voice, when speaking your mind, or making your choice.)        We love library!!!

Poetry!!!!!! By Sophie

Do you know what poetry is? We are learning about personification poems. Mrs.Neft prints poems, and on the paper there are 3 different personification then we choose which one we want to do. Then highlight the one you want to do then, write what the sentence really means. Finally, we draw a picture that matches the personification.

We 3N love learning about Poems!!!!!

Personifacation Time!!!!

On Monday 3N did Personification Poems! We all loved it..First, we got the booklets. Next, we got to choose what poem on the page we wanted to do. Then, we had to right down what the personification sentence meant. Finally, we got to draw pictures down on the cover and inside the book on our page we wrote out personification sentence on.
We had a huge blast and it was fun because we got to make a book out of it and we loved it!
The reason for this was to learn more about personification, and personification is an object that is given human quality's.

For example. The clock bellowed. The meaning is that the clock rang really loud. I think we all had a fantastic, and fun time!

The activity was... 3N was given  a list of words with a picture of a star next to them. The students picked a sentence and moved the star. What's the circumference? By Matthew

Today November Tenth 2010 3N learned about diameter and circumference. After we had finished some mental math and a little lesson about circumference 3N listened to directions and got to work on the lessons activity. They were supposed to get string and a circle on paper. 3N taped down the string and wound it around the circle once. After that the students cut the string, took the tape off and straightened out the string then they measured the string with a ruler. 3N also learned that the diameter of a circle three times will be a close estimate to the circumference.

The purpose of this lesson is to teach the students about circumference and then letting them try to do what they learned how to do by having the activity.

Memories By:Miles

Did you ever do something so special to you you can see it over and over?
Well that's what 3N is talking about in writing were  writing stories about our memories.
This lesson reminds us of a story called Wilford Gorden McDonald Partridge.

I learned that we have good memories and bad memories but that's what makes us different.

Have you ever wrote a letter to saint jude hospotail?????
Well 3N did it this weekend and I got to do one.
It was really spectacular. We got to do it because we had this

forward that means when someone bees nice to someone
and then you pass it on.

3N's Lenape Project By Marissa and Sophie

And there is all kinds of different questions and we have to go to this website and get the answers.

Answer: The Lenape live in an area called lenape hoking.

We 3N love working on projects!!!!!!!

Where am I? By Matthew

Were am I? I am in school learning about were we are besides school. In fact you could start with school then get less and less describing you could find out where you are in the state, county, planet,UNIVERSE! Now that we started social studies and Geography we are learning about the world! By using google 3N visited the town just by viewing still pictures of our town taken by satellite. We had a fun time, everyone was screaming to see they're house or street.

I think the point of this lesson is to learn about the world around us, places, and the world!

Got Character

Have you ever learned about Got Character? An example of got character is caring about others. One more is friendly people. Be kind to others.

I learned that got character is friendly.  I learned that Got Character is being kind. An Exsapol is helping others clean up.

open mind portraits

Have you ever had to do feelings for a character in a book? Well, 3N did and we had a blast on Friday. We did open mind portraits! First we read the book and had to pick a character that we wanted to describe about. Next we had to write down what we thought they were feeling. Then we shared with the class. Finally we had to describe what we thought they were feeling.

For instants say your doing Edward Tulane from what we got from the describing words in the book, we found by the describing words that Edward was TERRIFIED, BLUE and TEAR-FULL. And Abilene was FURIOUS and OUTRAGED, BECAUSE two little boys were throwing Edward Tulane around in the air. So, Abilene tackled one of the boys and the boy that she tackled threw Edward Tulane up, up and out of the ship and Edward Tulane was TERRIFIED and BLUE.

3Ns muscle models

Did you ever have to twist and bend just to get it right? 3N did last week we made a muscle models.
The things we used are a rubber band, 2 paperclips. a rubber tube and 2 wooden sick. The rubber bands stand for the bicep, the 2 paperclips are the tendons, the rubber tube stands for the joint and the 2 wooden sticks are the bones and all together it is a arm model.

This helps us understand how the arm contracts and relaxes.

My " Bones ! My"Bones !

Have you ever had you're brain struggle very hard memorizing names of bones?
Well once we had to memorize the bone song. Now we now all the main bones in the skeleton  system .
Here are a few bones... Pelvis, Femur, Patella ,Rib,Scapula , and Phalanges.

What's important is say you fell off your skateboard. Your clinic say's you broke your humerus
and the doctor ask you what bone you broke and you said "I don't know".
The point is you have to know what bone to rest on and which bone not to.

Signed , Eric and Miles

Barn owls

Have you seen a barn owl? Well we saw a barn owl on you tube he was eating a mouse and birds. His prey is a mouse and a bird .The owl looks like beautiful, big eyes and have two legs, and two wings. He spits the skin and the bones.

It is important because you can compare the mice bones to our bones.

Extra Recess

Has your school ever had a turn off the TV week? Did your class win? Let us tell you about how our class won and got 15 minutes of extra recess. Well we won it and got to go out side at 2:30. We had the most hours of TV watched on a regular week(66 HOURS!) we had a 49 hour diference so even if another class watched 0 on turn off the TV week and so did we,we still would have won because of our high average!(THAT WAS ONLY AN EXAMPLE!)

Don't wach as much TV like 5 hours about 20 minutes is good. It is better to read!
