Poetry!!!!!! By Sophie

Do you know what poetry is? We are learning about personification poems. Mrs.Neft prints poems, and on the paper there are 3 different personification then we choose which one we want to do. Then highlight the one you want to do then, write what the sentence really means. Finally, we draw a picture that matches the personification.

We 3N love learning about Poems!!!!!

Personifacation Time!!!!

On Monday 3N did Personification Poems! We all loved it..First, we got the booklets. Next, we got to choose what poem on the page we wanted to do. Then, we had to right down what the personification sentence meant. Finally, we got to draw pictures down on the cover and inside the book on our page we wrote out personification sentence on.
We had a huge blast and it was fun because we got to make a book out of it and we loved it!
The reason for this was to learn more about personification, and personification is an object that is given human quality's.

For example. The clock bellowed. The meaning is that the clock rang really loud. I think we all had a fantastic, and fun time!

Which one is Personifacation? By Matthew

Which one is Personification? I think its that one-or that one-no that one! November sixteenth 3N learned about Personification. The activity was... 3N was given  a list of words with a picture of a star next to them. The students picked a sentence and moved the star. If there was a little star under the picture of a star then that was Personification.

The purpose of this lesson was to teach the students the difference between Metaphor,Simile ,and Personification

What's the circumference? By Matthew

Today November Tenth 2010 3N learned about diameter and circumference. After we had finished some mental math and a little lesson about circumference 3N listened to directions and got to work on the lessons activity. They were supposed to get string and a circle on paper. 3N taped down the string and wound it around the circle once. After that the students cut the string, took the tape off and straightened out the string then they measured the string with a ruler. 3N also learned that the diameter of a circle three times will be a close estimate to the circumference.

The purpose of this lesson is to teach the students about circumference and then letting them try to do what they learned how to do by having the activity.
